The Lewiston Main Post Office has a rich history and architecture. It's located one block east of the city's central Lisbon Street business district.
The original 1933 portion of the building faces north onto Ash Street and is two stories in height. It features a frame of steel and concrete, with an exterior of stone brick.
The central portion is nine bays wide, articulated by brick pilasters with stone bases and capitals. The first-floor bays have rounded-arch openings, with the central three housing entrances, and the outer six windows.
A stone entablature tops the building, accompanied by a dentillated cornice and a parapet with stone balusters and brick piers.
